About Vaughan in Motion

HISTORY

In 1997 a 5 km “Family Walk” was organized by the Knights of Columbus of Maple following the tragic news that a fellow Knight was diagnosed with cancer. This event, spearheaded by Co-Founders Peter Badali and Dr. Greg D’Orio, was eventually named the Great Ride and Stride and became an annual event.

In 2004 the walk was renamed Vaughan In Motion’s Walk for Cancer Care and moved indoors at Vaughan Mills. This walk has become our signature event which has attracted walkers across Southern Ontario.
